Catalyst Transgender Leadership Program
About Catalyst
The Catalyst Cohort at Basic Rights Oregon is one of the only comprehensively QTBIPOC-centered community building and leadership development programs across both the Pacific Northwest and the broader United States. This six-month, hybrid cohort focuses on providing meticulous support services to 15-20 lower-income, disabled, neurodivergent, and otherwise marginalized queer and/or trans Black, Indigenous, and other People of Color every year. Offering this paid opportunity for our most marginalized Oregonians to receive personalized, preventative, and responsive care is how we redistribute resources directly back into the broader LGBTQ2SIA+ community.
Recent sessions have included trainings provided by other QTBIPOC educators on COVID-safe mutual aid organizing across cultures, project management beyond the neurotypical, and safe job-seeking practices and resume-building strategies for QTBIPOC PNWers. Basic Rights Oregon has partnered with Portland's own PASA Language Solutions to provide extensive Spanish translation/interpretation services for the duration of the 2024 Catalyst Cohort.
We are not currently recruiting for future Catalyst cohort programs, but please check back.
