Amanda works alongside Laura Curtis at NW Public Affairs, guiding Basic Rights Oregon’s legislative work. Amanda is passionate about LGBTQ equality and has spent the past 10 years in Oregon advocating for progressive policy, first in affordable housing and sustainable urban development, and then as the Chief of Staff to former State Senator Chip Shields for four years, before joining NW Public Affairs in 2015. Prior to consulting for BRO, Amanda worked on the Minnesota marriage campaign and served on BRO’s Equality PAC board, working to elect pro-equality candidates across Oregon. When not at work, Amanda’s finishing up her MBA at Portland State University, lending a hand at Girls Build, spending quality time with her partner and friends, and negating most of her attempts at exercise with baked goods and Oregon craft beer.
